BACK TO BACK TRIUMPHS

Small sided football whether it be futsal, cage football or even 6 a side is a very intense sport. it has its ups and downs, while always maintaining the heated atmosphere that you don't always get in traditional 11 a side football. Being SSC small sided is our specialty, and it's where we are now beginning to truly thrive in the local Sydney scene.

During this winter 2023 season we have been competing in a cage football league, as well as a futsal league, both based in Sydney, and both are local level leagues. As Sydney street Crew is a team that competes in national Futsal League as well as the occasional international tour, there is an expectation that follows our team, and rightly so. It's a great form of pressure and motivation that brings the best out of our squad on most occasions.

This brings us to our results in the two leagues we have been competing in. Both leagues having topped the standing convincingly, we entered this week with the both finals taking place, two days apart.

Here are the results from both finals:

KINGS - WANDERERS FIVES: 5-3 Victory

ASIAN NATIONS LEAGUE: 4(5)-4(4) Victory

Having come out of the week with both trophies in our grasp it was a great feeling, but it also serves to highlight that we need a higher level of competition, whether that be national league or another international tour. This by no means is a shot at the teams we compete against in these local level leagues, especially since we compete in the hardest local leagues available. Most teams we verse are very high quality, however they lack the polish of high level futsal, which is where we usually have the advantage.

Looking forward to taking over the new leagues that we will be starting soon, as well as taking on higher level opposition in the coming AFA National Futsal League.
