THE PREMISE OF STREETBALL

Streetball is football for night time gladiators. Teams compete in secret underground locations under extreme circumstances to climb to the top of the league. The game is the city’s worst kept secret – it’s not strictly legal but it’s not strictly illegal either. To win is to achieve fame and fortune, through hushed whispers during the day and roaring praise in matches at night. The league attracts players of every creed, and it’s a place where misfits thrive.

Streetball is the brainchild of the shows protagonist Slavi, Sydney Street Crew’s founder and captain, who never truly fit into the ‘traditional football’ model, tired of all the political red tape often found in sporting associations, he commenced ‘Streetball’ which quickly became the only competition that mattered football.

THE TEAM BRINGING YOU STREETBALL

Conceptualised by Ken Cantrill in 2020, Streetball is a collaborative project between Xentrix Studios, Viskatoons, Kalidor Media and Sydney Street Crew. Streetball is built for a young-adult and teen demographic, with Peter Viska turning the story of Sydney Street Crew into a cohesive and enthralling animated TV series. Real life influence grounds the animation creating a link between the animated Sydney Street Crew and the official professional team, the protagonist Slavi is based on Tomislav Bazdaric the founder of Sydney Street Crew, who's known as Slavi in real life.
